DREAMING:
Since I was a small child, I’ve been told that the red rose is a sign of passion and love that has been utilized to symbolize intense love and deep affection in many different civilizations. The red rose is a potent sign in romantic gestures because the color red is frequently linked to strong feelings like love, beauty, courage, and respect. Giving red roses as a token of love is believed to have originated as a way for people to use flowers to express complicated feelings; the red rose symbolizes profound love. Because of its profound cultural significance, the red rose is a customary gift for Valentine’s Day and other romantic events. Aside from birthdays, my spouse and I don’t wait for a special occasion to celebrate one another.

REALITY:
A red rose with thorns, within the same context of love and passion, symbolizes the complexities and challenges of romantic relationships. While the red rose signifies deep love, passion, and affection, the presence of thorns on the stem introduces the notion that love is not without its difficulties and pains. The thorns represent obstacles, hardships, and the potential for hurt that occurs in a relationship, reminding us that true love requires acceptance of both the beautiful and the challenging aspects.

This symbolism highlights the idea that love is both beautiful and complex, requiring courage and resilience to navigate its challenges. It suggests that enduring love is not just about experiencing the joy and beauty of the relationship but also about overcoming difficulties and growing stronger together.

In Love’s Garden, our journey began,
Not just sunny days, but shadows too, we ran.
A rose with thorns, our tale began to weave,
Yet through life’s storms, together, we’d cleave.
Our love, a rose with thorns, it shows,

Through trials and woes, its beauty glows.
With each challenge we faced, our bond grew strong,
In love’s embrace, we’d always belong.
Through dark nights and tempests’ fury,
We clung to love, never once weary.

Tested by loyalty in myriad ways,
Our hearts stood firm through the darkest of days.
Roots intertwined, our souls entwined,
In life’s dance, together, we find.

With every obstacle, love’s voice we’d hear,
Hand in hand, overcoming every fear.
In life’s garden, our love stands tall,
A rose with thorns, yet unbreakable, we enthrall.
Under azure skies, our love takes flight,
Forever bound in love’s eternal light.
